A Brief History
I initially started working in the building trade in 1980, working in the summer holidays for a company owned by a friend's Father. Learning, amongst laying bricks and plastering, to make tea and sweep up!
I left school in 1982 and started an apprenticeship, in bricklaying, at the YCAT - York College of Arts and Technology. I stayed in employment until I was 22, when I decided to start up my own business, which I did in the spring of 1987. The company prospered until the first recession took hold in 1991, when I moved to London. I stayed there until 1995, when I moved back to the north.
As most people are curious as to the name; it comes from: Yor-kshire and Lan-cashire. As Mark was born in Yorkshire and his wife in Lancashire; they met whilst working in London, so the cross-border conflicts were not known at the time...
We undertake all aspects of building work, both residential and commercial projects; we are based in Rawcliffe, East Yorkshire. Although we work all across Yorkshire and England. We are more than happy to offer free advice and estimates or quotations for general building and repairs or for project management for any development already undertaken.
